I don't know how these people think that's a good idea. Those tires have to be pretty terrible in the snow lol

yes... while they are liekly just all seasons at best, they are certainly better than the threadbare nonsense I see a lot of people rolling on in snow.
but yeah, not bright move.

Hah very true. People ride with tires that are dangerous enough when conditions are good let alone with snow and ice! I wonder how much the accident rates in general would go down if everyone used proper tires.

probably some boring stats can be gathered from places like here (Colorado) that has snow and no laws about tires, compared to some chunks of Canada that require snow tires.

Depending what cities he has to go through and how many non main roads he has to use for work that is. Loveland doesn't get any side roads plowed really, just main roads, so wouldn't work in Loveland really, lol

yeah, and I guess I didn't actually see him GET to work, and NOT crash :P

It might be possible, not sure what tire's he's running..I drove the Z to work and back for a week last winter on Summer tires, got stuck twice but still made it, and it's rwd. This year that wouldn't happen, because it now has more rubber on the ground (wider tires can't cut through snow) and they are Pilot SS's...which are awful if it's 45 or below, let alone snowing, haha

it was packed snow this morning, I honestly think clearance rather than traction would have been his issue. On the uncleared side streets I was certainly using my own bumper to plow my way

One causes the other to be a issue though, haha. You don't need clearance if you have enough traction ;) I have mostly clearance now with my winter beater..it needs new tires but has offroady all seasons, and 180 pounds of sandbags to get some traction atleast :P just to get me moving, so I can throw all my traction away in the turns because I'm a child with a rwd vehicle ;)
